A Maryland gym teacher is facing numerous charges for allegedly trying to falsely make his boss look racist and antisemitic. Charging documents obtained by WBAL detail how Dazhon Darien, a physical education teacher and athletic director at Pikesville High School, used artificial intelligence to create fake voice recordings of the school's principal, Eric Eiswert, making disparaging remarks about Black and Jewish students.

The audio recordings were shared on social media, which resulted in Eiswert being put on paid administrative leave while an investigation was launched.

The FBI was called to assist and ran a forensic analysis of the audio files, which found "traces of AI-generated content with human editing."

Investigators also found evidence showing Darien used the Baltimore County Public Schools' network to access OpenAI tools three times, on December 18 and 19, and again on January 15, the day before the audio clips were sent to Darien and two other teachers.

Officials said that Darien was having work performance issues and was concerned that Eiswert would not renew his contract next semester.

Darien was taken into custody and charged with disturbing school activities, retaliation, stalking, and theft.
