PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT POLICY
Our stations receive numerous requests for free air time dedicated to community causes, commonly referred to as PSAs or Public Service Announcements
Please direct all such requests to Ray Romero, Public Affairs Director at (504) 679-7300 Ext. 329 or rayromero@clearchannel.com
We cannot guarantee that any particular PSA will air although every attempt will be made to accommodate all legitimate requests.
Because of the vast reach of the CCRNO stations, the cluster receives many more PSA requests than can be accommodated. Therefore, preference will be given to non-profit agencies and organizations which have a message that would be beneficial to the most listeners of a given station. In other words, the more people who will benefit from the message, the better the chances of it getting on the air.
In addition to being a benefit to a wide array of people, Clear Channel also gives preference to PSA messages which address areas of particular concern in New Orleans and the surrounding communities. We determine these areas of concern by conducting regular interviews with community leaders and residents
Any PSA request that comes from a commercial or for-profit entity must include the offer of something of value for free or reduced cost or else the announcement wouldn’t qualify as a PSA
All public service announcements will be no longer than thirty seconds in length
We consider our commitment to our community to be second to none but, because of the overwhelming amount of requests, this policy will be enforced until further notice
